PGT: Tiger says he's looking for permanent caddie

Don?t become too familiar with the face and mannerisms of Bryon Bell. Tiger Woods? childhood friend may be the looper this week and next for the first two events in Woods? return from an 11-week layoff, but Bell will not be the permanent caddie for Woods beyond this brief stretch.

?No, no. Have you seen his legs?,? Woods said on Tuesday at Firestone when asked if Bell could be the full-time bagman.

He added, ?Bryon and I are very comfortable out on the course. Bryon?s not a permanent caddie.?

So, what is Tiger looking for in a permanent caddie, then?

?Someone that obviously understands the game, can handle the pressure coming down the stretch on the back nine. Someone who has been there before, who understands it, and can deal with it,? he said.

Woods looked at his only two caddies in a decade-and-a-half on tour as the model.

?[His first caddie] Fluff (Mike Cowen) had been there plenty of times with Peter [Jacobsen]. Stevie had been there plenty of times with Raymond [Floyd] and Greg [Norman].?

Woods knows what he wants, but it also seems the general public wants an interview for the job. Woods said a few tour caddies have spoken to him about the role, but John Q. Public has been more vocal about wanting the bag.

?People who are not caddies out here ? a ton. We?ve gotten a lot of interesting ones.?

Until Woods identifies the proper caddie ? and he has no time table to do it ? it will be Bryon and him against the world.

Woods said he will be with Bryon ?next week as well and hopefully get myself into the [FedExCup] Playoffs.?
